Ritval Pillay joined the North Island team in 2014 in the Activities Centre. A 60 nautical-mile skipper who captains the flotilla of boats that adorn the Island’s beautiful bays and accompanies guests on snorkelling, diving trips, sunset cruises and island excursions. Born and bred in the Seychelles, he knows the best fishing locations and is also there to sort out your rods and tackle whilst guiding you in achieving your best deep-sea catch. Ritval is a passionate Rescue Diver and is currently studying to take his skills to the next level in becoming a Dive Master and ultimately Dive Instructor.
Ritval is a man of many talents and assists guests with all aspects of the Activities Centre, from kitting you up to showing you how to get the most out of our state-of-the-art equipment in the Dive Centre. He is warm and friendly and makes a great wingman to having fun on North Island. Not only is he your trusty skipper, but he is always up to take you out kayaking, bodyboarding or stand-up paddleboarding. His previous bartending skills also come in handy when taking you out on a sunset cruise.
Ritval is great with adults and kids alike (a father himself) and has taught many of our young guests how to swim in our stunning inifinity pool. He has also built up their confidence to take their first dip in the warm, calm waters surrounding North Island. One of those special memories that will last a lifetime.
Ritval has built up his experience over the last two and half years at North Island, learning from the best. He has been out on numerous dives and is eager to share his underwater experiences with our guests when he soon becomes a Dive Master. Prior to working on North Island, Ritval worked at Seychelles National Park Authority. He takes a keen interest in marine conservation on North Island and looks forward to the arrival of our new slates which will also be used with our guests in monitoring reef health.
We look forward to watching Ritval grow and flourish on North Island. Full of potential and drive, Ritval is sure to become someone to watch in the Seychelles’ diving industry.
